Both genders Need to Support Women’s Rights

He For She is a gender equality initiative that recognizes the importance of solidarity from both genders when it comes to advancing women’s rights. As the organization’s site notes, women’s rights issues were initially created by women, for women. If men stand in solidarity amongst those of the other gender, true equality may some day be reached. The initiative was launched by UN Women, the organization dedicated to global gender equality and empowerment of women. JP Morgan and Barclays are also corporate sponsors of the site and organization. It’s an interesting take on traditional campaigns for women’s rights, and an important step in getting the entire world on the same page in terms of gender equality.

An Initiative Dedicated to Worldwide Gender Equality

He For She takes several different approaches to advancing its gender equality mission. It encourages individuals to use Twitter or Instagram to share their opinions or stories about gender equality using the hashtag #HeForShe. There’s already tons of great content shared by men (and women) in support of women’s rights on those social media platforms. The He For She homepage also displays a map of the world, showing the amount of men in each country that have supported the movement. It’s encouraging to see that men in almost every nation have signed up to support the cause.
