Veritocracy – Veritocracy is based on a simple idea: creating a personalized news site specifically for you. Although the web offers a commendable number of social content sites and news aggregators (such as Digg, Mixx, Google News, Daylife), these fall short on accommodating the taste of each unique user. With these sites, the ‘individuality’ factor is manifested more by users’ general topic setting options than by true personalization. Veritocracy is refreshingly different. It gives you a customized spotlight on the topics and news stories that YOU are interested in. Their system brings together articles from the blogosphere, mainstream media and available readers, and then groups these in individual, more specific topics (ex. a particular news story, stock or movie). As a news and information consumer, you can vote thumbs up on the articles you like and thumbs down on the ones you don’t. Based on your preferences as you go along, Veritocracy will automatically feed the best articles that match your own preferences. It’s important to feel special!
