Recovery.gov –  On Friday February 13, 2009 the House of Representatives and the Senate approved the conference report of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. As tax payers you have the right to know just how and where your money is channeled. If you wish to learn more about this, I invite you to read the final text of the legislation, signed by President Obama. I feel I should give you a heads up though: it’s 407 pages long. I doubt anyone has the time to read the entire document, so if you want the government to Show you (where is) the Money, I would suggest starting with Recovery.gov. It’s Obama’s personal invitation to track the Act’s progress and see your ‘money at work.’ This is part of Obama’s overall aim to render the US government’s operation as transparent as possible so that citizens are always in the know. At Recovery.gov you will learn that the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act targets investments towards key areas that will save or create good jobs immediately, while also laying the groundwork for long-term economic growth. The provided charts and figures give you an idea of where the money is going. Let’s hope it works because if not, we’ll be seeing this again.
