This interactive Arcade Fire music video for JustaReflektor allows viewers to play with filmmaker Vincent Morisset’s visions with their smartphone or mouse.
I could call JustaReflektor a music video, but that doesn’t do it justice. Vincent Morisset has created an interactive experience for viewers set to a new pulse-pounding track from Arcade Fire. By moving your smartphone around your web cam’s field view you can manipulate the visuals on the screen as you see fit. Every few seconds your smartphone-waving power changes. Expect dazzling flurries of visual patterns, cascading colors, and overlapping images.
About halfway through JustaReflektor‘s 7 minute 42 second video the participation aspect ends, but you are still left with a fascinating clip set in a Haitian festival. Oh, and the music’s not too shabby either. The song is produced by LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and features backing vocals from David Bowie. Just a Reflektor is good art from top to bottom. Stop wasting time and check it out!
