Coming in at #4, is the archipelago off the coast of Ecuador known as the Galapagos Islands. These islands, like Madagascar are rich in their endemic biodiversity, but what separates the two in their rankings is the history that the Galapagos Islands possess. Charles Darwin, arguably the most famous naturalist and philosopher of all time created his theory of natural selection, and in turn the theory of evolution while studying these islands. Not only are these islands rich in history, but they are also tremendously beautiful as well. Take a look at this white sand beach.
