Nerdist’s website is home to all of the podcasts, videos and other content created by the Chris Hardwick-created comedy group.
Nerdist is the Chris Hardwick-founded comedy organization that has since grown into an alt-comedy empire, spanning from podcasts to YouTube to content for major television networks. Nerdist operates out of Meltdown Comics, a comics store in Los Angeles that’s now become a Comedy Central TV show featuring Kumail Nanjani and Jonah Ray. Both are also frequent Nerdist collaborators, and the group has managed to build its way towards becoming one of the foremost destinations for popular young comedians. Popular podcasts like Pete Holmes’ You Made It Weird are produced by Nerdist Industries and distributed by the network.
The Nerdist website compiles all of the network’s output and organizes it in one location. In addition to the Nerdist podcasts and YouTube channel, the company also produces several sketches and articles that are hosted on their site. The content is focused on stories nerds of all types will enjoy — from DC and Marvel to reviews of films and TV shows. Music, Science, Books, and Games are all also sections on the site. For aspiring writers or comedians, Nerdist also offers a school (similar to Groundlings, UCB or Second City) with various types of classes. More information about the school can be found on Nerdist’s site as well. The majority of the Nerdist podcasts and videos are great — with an incredible roster of comedic talent to back them up. The site’s worth checking on a regular basis.
