Connect is a map and address book of all your friends. It syncs your contacts from many sources (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Foursquare, your iPhone, and more) and lets you know when they travel and check in nearby.
Find your Friends More Easily.
Connect is a next-level address book that helps you better manage your contact list. It does so by displaying the location of all of your contacts from various platforms across the web — LinkedIn, Facebook, Google Plus, etc. — on a map. The service works as a mobile application, so searching through the map of your contacts is easy. Thankfully, Connect does not publish exact GPS location data. So, even though you can tell where your contacts are, you can’t tell exactly where they are. This is useful for discovering when one of your contacts arrives in your city (the app will notify you!). You can view either where your friends have checked-in recently or what city they’re currently in.
Stay Connected with All Your Contacts.
Connect also allows users to check-in to a particular area or location in order to alert his or her contact list. This allows other users to know where you are, in case they want to visit you. There’s also an easy-to-use search bar built in to the app that allows you to filter your friends by job title, school, and other factors. The coolest part of the app is that it syncs with your iPhone or Google address book, and you can call, email, text or contact anyone on your list from within the app. One major downside is that the app requires that users sign up using a Facebook account as well as an email address. This raises some privacy and security questions, but the app couldn’t function without this information, so it’s necessary. Contact is truly an enhanced version of the traditional address book, and it could be hugely successful and useful if more people become active users.
