Pandorama is a discovery engine that allows you to create your own personalized content feed through your interests, hobbies, and favorite topics.
When first entering the site of Pandorama you might be a little confused as to why there are pandas… everywhere. The pandas represent different characteristics and personalities that the site offers. When you sign up you will be taken to a page (with more pandas of course) with a list of topics. You get to choose the ones which are relevant to what you are looking for on the internet. The topics range from trendy and fashionable to tech geek to sport nut. Pandorama offers a wide range of interesting subjects to choose from, and you can choose as many as you want! Once you choose your topics of interest, they give you an endless list of interesting articles, websites, blogs, and more of things you probably wouldn’t have found just by using Google.
Now that Google Reader is closed (as of today actually…), everyone is fahhh-reaking out, frantically looking for a replacement. Pandorama provides a great alternative because just like Google Reader, they find you personalized articles based upon your previous searches and how you like or dislike those articles. Even though Pandorama is considered to be “less serious” than Google Reader, you can still habituate the site to give you what you want. While it can also be compared to Stumbleupon they are different on how they give you information back. Pandorama gives you a an unlimited interface of articles, while Stumbleupon only takes you to one site at a time. Think about it this way… If Google Reader and Stumbleupon had a baby, it would be Pandorama.
Using Pandorama to customize your search truly eliminates the unnecessary spam on the internet that you never wanted to see in the first place. They even have a system where you can “like” and “dislike” certain posts and their server will automatically plug that into an algorithm that will either keep showing you websites or not depending on what you chose. Besides 10+ specific topics they already have, Pandorama also includes a search bar that you can type into to see more of something that interests you or to discover completely new interests. Even though there are millions of different websites and interesting things to find, Pandorama’s main purpose is to make sure you have the internet how you want it. This is what sets them apart from any other search engine. They are YOUR search engine. So make sure you check out Pandorama, and you will never have to compromise on websites again!
