Pro offers instant price estimates for your home improvement projects and connects you with those that can get the job done.
When you first arrive at Pro, the site asks what’s on your home to do list. You can type as many projects into a list on the homepage. The site understands and translates common terms, so you don’t need to worry about sounding informal. When I first arrived at the site, for instance, I typed in “install smoke alarm,” “repair door,” and “fix roof leak” as my answer to what’s on my home to-do list. After clicking “Instant Estimate” and entering my zip code, Pro actually did return an instant estimate of how much those things would cost if I were to hire a professional to do them for me. Pro fit my search terms into its own broader categories — “install smoke alarm,” for instance, was understood by Pro as “Install Smoke, Carbon Monoxide, or Radon Detectors.”
Pro gives an individual estimate for each project as well as a total for the combined sum (my total? between $478 – $587). You can also modify each individual project by indicating whether it’s more simple or complex. This, too, changes the price estimate. The second half of Pro’s service is connecting you with the individuals that you could hire to complete your project, which the site also does nearly instantly. Each pro’s profile comes with reviews, licensure information, experience, and whether or not he or she is background checked/bonded&insured. If Pro doesn’t return any results for its “Certified Pro service” professionals in the area, it still helps you find someone to hire by completing a free Pro report for you. The site researches local pros in your area and sends you a report with contact information so that you can find the best person to get your job done. The site offers an easy way to find cost-effective professionals for your projects without having to waste time researching and contacting different individuals.
