WorldCam allows you to see what’s going on right now around the world, or just around the corner… Want to know who’s “instagramming” awesome photos near you?
One of our favorite concepts here at All My Faves is that of ‘Social, Local, Mobile’. Instagram hits the social and local parts of the three, but hasn’t found a way to combine all three to form the perfect ‘SoLoMo’ triangle… Until now that is…
With WorldCam, Instagram becomes more than just a way of sharing cool photos on your mobile. It potentially becomes a more powerful local tool for discovering cool places around you, and that’s pretty exciting. Exciting enough of a concept for Facebook to consider as a bolt-on to their infamously expensive acquisition? Who knows. A fun, quasi-useful Instagram-based product for you? Most definitely!
Oskar Sundberg, WorldCam’s co founder, told us this week that although WorldCam started as a fun side project to the founders’ day-jobs, it turned out to be much more then they anticipated…
“The problem we solved with Worldcam is simple: It’s the easiest way to look at current photos from a specific place. We started off thinking it would be great to look at places in town, or holiday destinations, but then we realized there’s so much fun to look at, all over the world. From competing companies to the weirdest museum in the world to a classic bar mentioned in some book you just read, Worldcam has it all.”
We all love Instagram, but until now there hasn’t really been an easy way of finding photos from a specific location. Worldcam is the best and easiest way of finding out what’s happening right now, anywhere on the planet. Try it and see for yourselves!
