A Tribute to Hitchcock’s Films & Christian Louboutin’s Shoes
Upon arrival at the site’s homepage, The Hitchock Obsession presents visitors with two options: Psycho or Vertigo. Both are Hitchcock films, and both take visitors to an interactive experience that honors the filmmaker. Choosing Psycho brings a video game-like digital woman to the Bates Motel, while choosing Vertigo brings the same character beneath San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. Each option allows visitors to click around the screen and unlock certain features, typically specific Christian Louboutin shoes. It’s a strange combination of film and design, but also somehow a fitting tribute to both men.
An interactive design experience
It’s somewhat confusing trying to figure out the purpose of the site, and it’s not quite clear that there actually is one. The tribute was created by French design teams Chapristi and Just Because We Love It as a way to showcase their skills. The way both scenes are put together definitely demonstrates the designers’ capabilities, but does little to give visitors a reason to keep coming back. There is, however, the option to vote for future Hitchcock movies for the designers to recreate, which could eventually result in some more interesting options.
