Joel Henriquez the founder of Made by Joel wholehearedly believes in art that is meaningful. He has proposed to make art accessible to all regardless of skill, capability, and economic means. Made by Joel is an inspirational and valiant endeavor transformed into an even more beautiful web platform. Instead of hindering him, the birth of his children actually propelled him into the website he currently runs. They were an inspiration for his visions. The importance of family teamwork and imagination are quite apparent themes throughout the array of potential toys to create.

Made by Joel at first glance seems like a modern age DIY toy creation. Some, if not most, of the products seem like an elevated playtime and do not necessarily scream “My child will sit still and have the patience to make this alongside me.” However, it does give some positive, good, and free inspiration to the artistic and creative soul that lives within all of us. If we were to only go off of the inspiration angle, we could say this gets parents in the mood to create with their children and seek new cool and alternate ways to create toys and various art projects with their family. It recharges the way we view playtime.
