Doing so will not require months of training, professional climbing gear, warm clothes or an oxygen mask, all you need is your laptop and this awesome site. Entering GlacierWorks will allow you to go through an interactive journey where you’ll follow it’s founder; the acclaimed mountaineer, photographer, and filmmaker David Breashears, step by step, through every base-camp and milestone, all the way to the top of the world: Mount Everest’s peek.

An Educational Journey

GlacierWorks is a non-profit organization on a mission to document, educate and raise awareness about changes to the glaciers in the Greater Himalaya through art, science and exploration. They seek to incite curiosity about the region and spark dialogues regarding the changes to these glaciers. On it’s Rivers of Ice feature you can discover more about the glaciers, rivers and people of the Greater Himalaya.The high-resolution gigapixel photography enables viewers to experience the glaciers as never before: up-close and with extreme precision. In addition to its website, GlacierWorks raises awareness through worldwide exhibitions and by providing content for use in classrooms to educate students not only about climate change but also broader earth and environmental science themes.
