The Zebra: Find The Auto Insurance Plan That Best Suits You

The Zebra makes the decision of choosing an auto insurance company easier by displaying all of the options available for a user.

Making Auto Insurance Transparent.

With all the controversy surrounding the U.S. government’s troubled launch of their online health exchanges, Americans and other users around the world are likely skeptical of any website that claims to offer comparisons of insurance rates. Thankfully, The Zebra is not run by the government. The company’s goal is to bring transparency to relative insurance prices, and it does so in a manner similar to Healthcare.gov, by displaying all of a user’s best options for various insurance plans, with costs and other variables considered. While commercials for insurance can make one or another company seem more appealing, The Zebra focuses only on the numbers, displaying results for users’ potential insurance plans by listing them in order of the lowest monthly estimate.

Compare and Buy.

The site has an easy-to-use format that calculates a user’s best price for insurance without having to sacrifice too much personal information. When you attempt to get a quote on the Zebra, the site will ask you to type in the make and model of your car as well as your zip code. When I typed in my own make, model and zip code, the site found 25 matches that would best fit my needs. If you want to narrow the results further, you can add extra information to The Zebra, such as birthday, credit score, marital status, gender and other information that will ultimately be necessary for insurance companies to provide you with a quote. The Zebra also makes it easy to purchase auto insurance directly through the site. When you find a plan that you like, you simply need to click “buy,” and The Zebra will explain how to do the rest. Because there are so many options for auto insurance out there, The Zebra is truly a great tool to help users keep their costs low while finding the plan that suits them best.
