The Adventurists is an eccentric company that provides you with wild worldwide adventures. It fights to make the world less boring, while saving a bit of it through charity at the same time.
The Adventurists is probably the most unorthodox travel site we ever featured here at All My Faves… The site’s eccentric and unconventional team believes that when people say: “There is nothing new under the sun” they probably just didn’t look hard enough! Now, imagine you’re lost in a massive desert, hundreds of miles from civilization, driving a car your granny would be embarrassed by… A thing that can only be matched by driving 1,500km across the frozen Siberian wilderness on old school Ural motorbikes to the only town in the world sitting on the Arctic Circle, or 3,500km pan-Indian adventure in a 7 horsepower Rickshaw… On The Adventurists you are bound to find the least sensible thing to do with your time abroad.
Sound like a weird combination right? Well, not if you ask The Adventurists team. While you cut new edges into your maps, break your GPS and set forth into the world to find out what happens, you will also do some good along the way. The Adventurists is run by The League of Adventurists International Ltd, a UK based company not just hell bent on fighting to make the world less boring but also raising massive buckets of cash for charities. The motto is “We must save every rainforest in the world so future generations have somewhere to get stuck” Every team has to raise a minimum of £1000 for charity. At least half – £500 – has to be donated to the official charity Cool Earth. Beyond that the teams can continue raising money for them or choose another registered charity of their choice. Get your noses out of the Lonely Planet, donate money for a good cause and get your adventure started!
