TwoDots? Wasn’t Dots Addictive Enough?
Last year, we featured the original Dots game as one of our weekly faves, saying that it was the most addictive game of 2013. The original version had a 60-second timed game and a version where players were given 30 moves to score the highest amount of points. TwoDots has the same concept of Dots, but it is more exciting and more challenging. Instead of playing the same game over and over again to beat a high score, TwoDots has 85 levels to work your way through by completing certain challenges (i.e. remove 15 of each colored dot in 30 moves). Like Candy Crush, you are given 5 lives and once you fail to complete challenges 5 times, you have to wait 20 minutes for your lives to be replenished. If you are impatient, you can purchase more moves, lives, and bombs (which clear out even more dots) for $0.99. You can also link your account to Facebook, adding a social element to the game.
Stuck on Level 35?
First of all, relax! This is not Dots you’re playing here, there is no time limit so you can always stop and think of your next few moves. Gaining Levels is very easy in the beginning, but can be very hard as the levels gets higher. Still, the basic idea of how to pass that impossible level is very similar to the original game; the best way to advance in levels is by making squares with one color. When you manage to enclose a square, all other dots of that color will be removed, increasing the likelihood of getting another square. If you play your TwoDots right, you’ll be making square after square after square. Just remember to take your time and think your next few moves ahead, and then start making those infamous squares.
So What’s The Big Idea?
Unlike the first Dots game, TwoDots has more of a potential to keep me interested in the long run as each level has different challenges and making squares is more difficult as there are blocks in some of the levels, causing the dots to have a more complicated arrangement. I have been playing for less than 24 hours and am already on level 19, so some challenges are relatively easy, assuming you remember that you should be making squares. Right now, it seems as though I will never complete level 19, but I will keep plugging away, because I want to see what comes on level 20!
