Warning: A Highly Addictive Game!
If you follow us regularly, you know that we review tons of games and apps, so trust me when I say: Dots is the most addictive game I’ve ever played! At first glance you might not understand the fuss revolving this cute dot connecting game, its design is as simple as it get, rows of dots in five different colors that pop when you connect them… Sounds simple and easy, but is it? A 60 seconds time limit, nice power-ups and a highly competitive social aspect make this awesome game challenging, strategic and oh so addictive…
How to get that High Score?
Your Dots score depends almost solely on one feature; enclosed squares. When you manage to enclose a square, all other dots of that color will be removed, giving you extra points for each dot that popped as well as increasing the likelihood of getting another square. Getting on a squares zone is the only way to get in that high scores chart. You have three power ups at the bottom of the game that can have a big impact on your score as well, if you use them wisely; The Time Stops which gives you additional 5 seconds, the Shrinkers that enables you to remove a single dot that get in your way to completing a square by double clicking it, and the Expanders that will pop dots of a single color out of the screen. To get the power-ups you use the dots that you gain while playing or, if you’re short on time, you can buy them.
That’s the Big Secret? Squares?
Actually, yes. It’s all about the squares. Its simple mathematics actually; 36 Dots in five different colors, so about seven of each will be there when you start the game. If you enclose a square all the dots of that color will pop and seven new dots will appear, one or two of each. Now you have more of the other 4 colors so its easier to make another square, the more squares you complete the bigger the odds that you will be able to make another one. One last tip: Don’t be shy and restart if your first 10 seconds are not productive enough, it’s not cheating! 😉
Social – Because Rehab is Easier Together…
Dots wouldn’t be half as addicting as it is without its social competition aspects that take this game to a whole other level. Dots connects with your Facebook and Twitter and allows you to see your friends top scores, so don’t be surprised if you will find yourselves losing a couple of hours of your day, trying to out score your friends, even or should I say especially 😉 if they are up by a single dot. I spent half of this day’s working hours to score 376, can you top that? Download it FREE here and find out, it doesn’t get more addictive then this!
