Crumbles: Better Than Reaction GIFs

Crumbles are kinda like reaction GIFs with a way bigger vocabulary

A New Way to Get Your Message Across

For better or worse, reaction GIFs have changed the way people communicate online. Whereas before people would have to be burdened with the task of typing out a response to a question or a statement, now an infinite loop of a film or TV character doing something funny will suffice. Crumbles is somewhat of a reaction GIF creation tool, but with a much larger vocabulary. To create a Crumble, you select from a list of words found in the right-hand toolbar. Most of the words are simple — ”a,” “the,” “what,” etc. — but you’ll be surprised how easy it is to find the words you’re looking for.

Let Famous Characters from Film History Do the Talking

Each word corresponds to a short clip from a movie or TV show, such as Will Ferrell in Anchorman saying “let’s,” Batman saying “go” or Beavis and Butthead saying “movie.” After entering a string of up to 25 words, these clips are combined into a short Crumble, which plays back in order. It’s funny to hear various famous movie characters speaking the sentence you’ve crafted back to you, and it’s much more effective of a communication tool than a simple reaction GIF. You can also select words entirely from the dictionary of Homer Simpson or Bee and Puppycat, if you’re a fan. Crumbles are easily sharable, so the site’s worth checking out to see how creative you can get with the many short movie clips available.
