Youmiam is a recipe-sharing app that lets you find and create interesting meal creations.
Create and Share Recipes
Youmiam offers recipes for a wide variety of foods and meals, all hosted in a visually-appealing manner on an app that’s available on both iOS and Android. There’s also the option to post and share recipes via the site’s web browser app. Unlike sites that offer users their own recipe recommendations, it’s Youmiam’s community that’s responsible for posting the recipes. That process is accomplished via the app’s unique publishing tools. Reminiscent of the simple website creation and publishing tools used by services like Squarespace, posting a recipe on Youmiam is as simple as dragging and dropping a mixture of images and text (but with a focus on the former and less emphasis on the latter).
Visual-based Recipes for All Types of Meals and Food
After a recipe is created on Youmiam, the app automatically generates a widget that can be shared across all social media platforms or embedded on a blog or personal site. The widget design is simplistic enough that it highlights the major details of the recipe, prominently displaying a photograph and a description. True to the core principles of Youmiam, the widget is also easily sharable by users that come across it anywhere online. Because Youmiam emphasizes the visual aspect of recipes, it makes meal ideas easier to browse and also easier to follow when you’re in the kitchen. In a sense, it’s like the IKEA of cooking — for some its easier to follow visual guidelines than to be bogged down by confusing text. That might be a downside for some users that prefer to read their way through a meal creation, but at least Youmiam is doing something unique in a space with far too many copycat sites.
