Goodbye, Food Pyramid
Food research and business have expanded monumentally in recent years. Unfortunately, this vast (and often contradictory) information often clouds health goals more than illuminates. And what’s ‘right’ for me may not be advisable for you.
Nutrino’s Larger Project
The meals you eat, the weight you gain or lose; all this information gets fed back into Nutrino‘s algorithms. They use these results to tailor your meal recommendations, but there’s more to it than that. Nutrino hopes to use your feedback to compile their own health data to add to the body of global health information. Ambitious, right? Their employees sound like veritable health nuts, passionate about making nutrition science accessible to anyone.
Yeah, compelling stuff…Is it almost lunchtime?
Solving the world’s health crises aside, let’s talk about the food! At the start of the app, Nutrino asks for your food preferences for different meals of the day. So, I said I enjoy beans, lentils, and soups for lunch, and here were some of my results: “Rich tomato soup with pesto,” “Panera bread black bean soup,” and “Easy peasy lentil curry.” And I have been dreaming about lunchtime ever since! The meals come with nutrition facts and recipe guides from reliable websites like bbcgoodfood or epicurious. Bon Appetit!
