Have you ever Heard The Sound of Silence?
Sound Ecology was created with a hope to contribute to an environment that lets people develop their powers of perception and contemplation. In a world where silence is sometimes seen as a cause of anxiety, there is often to little time for such contemplation.
Lets Talk about Acoustic Ecology…
Acoustic ecology plays the same role for noise control that science in general does for environmental movement: it provides a common language and confers legitimacy. The soundscapes presented in Sound Ecology are, of course, artificial. The real soundscapes are the ones in which we actually live, as we walk through the street or sit in our office. This site invites you to use it’s interactive features to learn to identify the thousands of sounds to which you will be exposed when you turn off your screen and venture out into a real soundscape in the real world. Take ten minutes off your day and explore the world of the Acoustic ecology, the sounds and the silence.
