Chivas Regal And Cannes: An Interactive Panorama of Cannes

Chivas Regal, an official partner of the Cannes Film Festival, took an extremely long panorama of Cannes during this year’s film fest, and made it into an interactive website.

Bonjour

Have you always wanted to go to Cannes, the film festival that’s held in France every year and breaks pretty much some of the best movies of the year? Now you can. Or at least you can see what it looks like to be there, thanks to Chivas Regal’s new interactive website. The site features “the longest panoramic of the world’s most legendary film festival.” If you’re of legal drinking age to enjoy Chivas Regal, you’ll also be able to enjoy the site’s seriously long panoramic of the festival. The photo begins with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea, along Cannes’ Promenade de la Croisette. It then gives an inside look into classy festival locations such as the Hyatt Canes Hôtel Martinez, where festivalgoers were candidly snapped in their best festival tuxes and dresses.

A Virtual Red Carpet

The website also offers insight as to the festival’s history and other information about Cannes aside from the panoramic. As you scroll through the long photo, there are opportunities to click for little bits of extra material, such as the stunning gallery of photos taken from a yacht leisurely floating through the Mediterranean. There are also instructional videos for making cocktails inspired by The Great Gatsby, the film that premiered at the luxurious festival this year. If that makes you thirsty, the shot of the creperie included in the panorama is sure to make you hungry, too. Seriously, Cannes looks so awesome. The whole thing ends up at the festival’s red carpet.  That may have necessitated a spoiler alert, but I’m sure you already guessed that’d be the panorama’s climax. The red carpet is the place to be at Cannes (and hopefully on it). As if the pictures of the festival weren’t enough to tease film lovers, there’s even an option to watch a clip of an after party. I have got to go to Cannes someday. For now, this website is enough of a glimpse into the awesome world of international filmmaker superstardom.
