Wishbone is a charitable crowdsourcing platform that allows low-income high school students to participate in academic programs.
In the tradition of Kickstarter and Indiegogo, Wishbone relies on the generosity of the internet community to fund goals. Wishbone’s mission is to send low-income high school students to academic and athletic programs, but they need your help. Browse the student stories and teacher recommendations to get acquainted with the people you are supporting. Wishbone is 100% non-profit, so any donations you make go directly to the students. What better way to spend your coffee break than to inspire the dreams of deserving students?
Founder Beth Schmidt says the idea for Wishbone came when she was in the Teach For America program in South Central Los Angeles. She saw that her students had the drive to uplift themselves, but not the resources. Now Wishbone helps fund projects in New York and the San Francisco Bay area, helping connect hundreds of students to their passions. Student interests range from engineering to law, arts to athletics. With Wishbone you can enrich student lives a dollar at a time.
