TradeUp tests your professional skills and offers online courses to brush up those that you lack. Once you’ve improved your skills, it connects you with employers.
TradeUp is an adaptive learning platform that helps job seekers find jobs. This site is not for slackers though, you start off with a dynamic (and quite long…) learning assessment quiz for the career you want to pursue. The test pinpoints exactly what skills you are best at and which you need to brush up on. Next, it will show you how close you are to potential jobs that their employer partners have posted. Then, TradeUp will aim to increase your marketability and it allows you to learn from the best content online to hone those skills whether it’s Coursera, Udacity, Youtube, EdX, and top universities.
One of the Biggest paradoxes of these days is the fact that in order to ensure they enlist qualified employees, the employers ask for experienced workers only. The problem is, you can’t gain experience if nobody takes you in! TradeUp provides employers with a new way to evaluate their candidates; they can see how determined the candidates are and how autodidacts they can be. They constructed a specialized curriculum aimed at teaching the specific technologies and skills required by a job vacancy at one of the firms that they partner with. The service is completely free and hey, even if you will not find your dream job on it, you’re bound to learn some new professional skills.
