JustGiving is an online fundraising site that allows users to raise or donate money to the cause of their choice.
Support a Cause with Just a Few Clicks
JustGiving is a platform that streamlines both ends of the fundraising process. The site allows charities, such as the Alzheimer’s Society, Marie Curie Cancer Care, the British Heart Foundation and several other organizations, to set up profiles and receive donations. On the opposite end, sending money to a particular charity is as easy as clicking a “donate” button, selecting the value and currency of your choice, and leaving your name and a message (or remaining anonymous). Charities are easily discoverable through a search bar function or by browsing on JustGiving’s homepage.
JustGiving Takes a 5% Fee
The strongest element of JustGiving is its social capabilities, as each charity’s profile page includes a regularly updated list of users who have donated to the cause as well as their messages. The money that has been raised for charities in the U.K., Australia, U.S., Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland and Middle East and African regions is staggeringly high. Unlike some sites that offer the ability to make pure, 100% donations, JustGiving does charge a fee for its services. The company deducts 5% of every donation processed through the site, although a sort of loophole through the U.K.’s Gift Aid supposedly helps the company increase your donation amount by 25%. JustGiving’s homepage can be a bit clunky to navigate if you don’t know the exact charity or cause that you want to support, but the fact that it regularly sends funds to valuable organizations makes it a worthy site to frequent.
