Create Beautiful Documents, and Collaborate with Ease…
Created by Facebook’s former CTO, Bret Taylor, Quip allows users to create documents much quicker and easier than Google Docs. Unlike it’s competitors, Quip is a streamlined word processor, that relies on a visual messaging system to show edits, and who is involved in which document. One of my favorite features is the ability to “mention” people involved. If you’re collaborating on a project and need to delegate specific task to someone, simply press the “@” key and type a name, to a put small, visual of their name next to it. Because Quip is cross-platform, you can work on your documents anywhere. The mobile app has everything you need from the web-based version and is just as easy to use. What’s more is that it can send push notifications so you never miss an edit.

It takes seconds to create an account, simply log in via your google account, and you’re ready to start publishing. While it only has one font option, you can still create beautiful lists, tables, insert images, and attachments all with a simple interface. The decrease in buttons from Google Docs make Quip easy to learn and understand. If you are looking for a less cumbersome collaboration platform, Quip is the ideal candidate.
