Wait But Why: Tim Urban’s Weekly Posts On Anything

Wait But Why is an editorial site that offers one new post on a different topic each week.

A New Post Each Week (or so)

Wait But Why plans to post every Tuesday, but is upfront about the fact that that deadline is loosely defined and often missed. The site was created by a pair of siblings — Tim and Jordan Urban — as well as their friend, Andrew Finn. The site has a definitive personality that’s mostly due to Tim’s style of writing, which is engaging and informative while remaining casual and entertaining. In that sense, it’s comparable to a personal blog — one guy writes one post every once in a while. Based upon the content offered and the topics explored, however, it’s much more than just that.

Funny, Informative Writing about Anything and Everything

A sample list of some of the more recent Wait But Why post headlines is as follows: “The Dark Secrets of the Bird World,” “A Religion for the Nonreligious,” “But What About Greenland?” and “Why I Can’t Post On Time.” That should give you an idea of the type of content that you’ll find if you read or subscribe to the site. It’s a random topic each week, but there’s always interesting and unique insight from the mind of Tim Urban. The site also has a couple extra categories for additional content. “Minis” are much shorter posts written by any of the site’s three members, and “The Shed” is content found elsewhere on the internet and written by other authors. Overall, the community of commenters and the style Urban and Finn have built is impressive, and their posts are worth reading (if they go up on time).
