M Thru F – This hilarious blog was a Weekly Blog winner and thus scored the Weekly Fave spot last week. Prepare yourself for prolonged enjoyment as you explore the posts in this funny as hell work fail blog by Cheezburger. Turns out some of life’s funniest moments happen at the office, as you can see below.
Me and the Key 2 – In this deceptively cute looking game you need to find the key in each level to continue. Each level requires strategy and logic thinking, and you will be scratching your head quite a bit thinking how to pass the levels of the game. For hints & walkthroughs, click here.
For more logic and other addicting games, visit our I ♥ GAMES page and never miss on an update.
Cyber Monday, or should I say Cyber Week deals are still alive and kicking at every major online retailer store, some even lasting until Saturday, Dec 4 (see Amazon for example). Even if you have already found the perfect gifts for all the people you care about, what about you? We are curious to know what’s on your wishlist? If you can’t find it on our Holidays page, let us know what we’re missing – post it on our Facebook fan page wall!
Expensify – Owning a business is challenging in an of itself, but keeping a close eye over your company’s expenses is even harder. Expensify is here to treat many small businesses’ Achilles heel by offering a sophisticated yet easy to use expense management tool. It lets you “automate expense entry and recording by importing expenses, many with an eReceipt, directly from a credit card or bank account. Track mileage, log cash expenses and their receipts on the go with our mobile expense apps on the iPhone, Android, Palm Pre and BlackBerry phones or on the iPad.”
The Expensify system is so beautifully designed and executed, its complexity is left behind the scenes so you, the business owner, can have a seamless and super efficient expense management experience. Track your credit card expenses (the system is highly secured, so don’t worry about providing your credit card info), produce reports, allow other employees of your company to access the system, upload receipts, set up an expenses policy (for contractors, etc.) and connect to your QuickBooks/FreshBooks to sync expense accounts. You also have the option of customizing expense categories.
This huge bundle of goodness comes free -as part of the basic Google Marketplace app– and more active submitters are welcome to check the paid track (which is ridiculously cheap and totally worth it). If you are a small-medium business owner, Expensify is a must!
I Can’t Find My Phone – This one action only website treats a most common problem most mobile device owners face at some point in their life. Lost your phone? No prob. Go to this site (it’s a one page website), type in your cell phone number and hit “HELLO?” Yes, the system will call your mobile phone, and hopefully you’ll hear it ringing under the pillow of your sofa. If you hear nothing, try to remember what you did in the past 24 hours. For your sake I hope you were not flying in from another country or state…
Boutiques.com – Visual power has penetrated the fashion realm and now online apparel shopping is more accurate and individualized than ever. Take Boutiques.com for example, brought to us by Google, which “lets you find and discover fashion goods through a collection of boutiques curated by taste-makers — celebrities, stylists, designers, and fashion bloggers.” This ‘make-it-your-own’ apparel store uses visual technology that ‘learns’ your taste and style, and offers specific items that you, the users, will likely appreciate and hopefully purchase.
How does Boutiques learn what your style is, and what items to offer you accordingly? Click the Create Your Boutique button on the upper right corner, and start selecting your best outfits out of the ones the system offers you (actual celebrities’ styles). I did this for about 5 minutes, and Boutiques.com informed me my style is ‘casual chic.’
To finish off your own Boutique and have ‘it’s all you’ item recommendations, you will need to go through five more steps, but these are filled with fun and glamor you will enjoy every second of it. These include choosing your favorite (and least favorite) silhouettes, colors and patterns for a variety of clothing categories, and when you’re done, you go to your ‘Storefront’ and check out a huge catalog of clothing and accessories all suiting your personal style. Plus, you can follow other users who have created their storefront, and others can follow you for some added inspiration. I totally understand why Google bought this company. They KNOW style!
Kickstarter – Claiming to be “the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world,” Kickstarter is all about joining hands for good causes. It’s the perfect place for autonomously run pledges “to projects from the worlds of music, film, art, technology, design, food, publishing and other creative fields.”
Kickstarter seems like the perfect venue for project funding thanks to its zero exploitation policy. That is why each funding goal must be reached within the set deadline to avoid scams and abuses.
So what kind of project do people use Kickstarter for? Think of it as a small portion investment center for tiny yet promising startups. See the TikTok + LunaTik Multi-Touch project as an example, and the project’s video is embedded below.
Do you have a creative project you need genuine funding for? Start your own Kickstarter project page and see the money roll in!
Can you draw the Internet? – Who do you think has a greater chance of creatively showing what the Internet represents – a talented graphic designer or a 10 year-old kid who has never known a world without computers and the Internet? This intriguing project by Saint (London) brought out some amazing creative metaphors children have in their mind about what the Internet means for them.
The result? It will blow you away. Here’s a screen shot of the project’s homepage. Explore the unexpected and mind-blowing interpretations, and vote for your favorites!
Fluent in 3 Months – Meet the magical website of Benny Lewis, a delightful Irishman promising to let you in on the all the language hacks out there so you can master language fluency in no time. The content you will find on Fluent in 3 Months is based on hardcore, firsthand experience: Benny was out traveling the world for seven years, meeting various nations, cultures and languages along the way.
Before he set out to his worldwide experience, Benny spoke only one language: English. This is a nice reassurance that learning a new language is more than possible, well after one’s school days are over. Fluent in 3 Months was a winner Weekly Blog, hence its Weekly Fave position. So go ahead and enjoy discovering a new language, and I suggest starting with Benny’s Language Hacking Guide. By the way, if you’re interested in additional language learning resources, check out our Language faveline on the Education page.
Damn You, Auto Correct – This Weekly Blog winner is one of those funny cases where technology is developed to make our lives easier, but instead, it makes it more complicated. Damn You, Auto Correct puts the iPhone’s text auto-correct feature in the giggles spotlight and ridicules honest messages gone bad as a result. This is hilarious, surprising and addictive. There, I warned you. Below are a couple of especially funny examples.
Late Night – Experience music videos like never before with this exciting Late Night gem by Doritos. Although Rihanna is the most prominent star here, her video is not the only one worth exploring. Be sure to watch the others offered here, of bands from London, Sao Paulo, Brazil and other locations – you won’t be disappointed. The first screen shot is of the Late Night home screen, the second of the lovely 360 degree video by a cute Brazilian band. Simply play the video, click your mouse on any point on the screen and drag it to any direction. This way you will grasp the concept of an all-angle music video.
Rescue on Cocoa Farm – You must get rid of the chocolate blocks wisely, to clear the path of the animals straight into the barn’s doors. It starts out easy but you will have to think ahead as the levels progress (hint: think of simple physics). For more cute, fun and addicting games visit our I ♥ GAMES page for continued yeepees!
